"Tonight will be my Waterloo."
Jul. 25th, 2010 12:33 amI have many things to report. First and foremost: Maiden was awesome. Their set was a spaceship. Their setlist was excellent. Bruce did a lovely tribute to Dio. Dave was amazing.
( Aforementioned setlist )
Hung out in Chicago for a while with Nate and Paul. Nate and I went to see Jim Gannon in Milwaukee. He took us to a new brewery near his house. After that Nate drove me to Madison. I got to go drinking with Veronica, Jameson, and, later, Hartley. It was super fun. Then I returned to Chicago and saw Inception (finally) and Iron Man 2 (at the cheap theater). I found the first awesome and the second slightly more perplexing the second time around. I guess Vibranium is Stark tech now. Also, Howard Stark was in his late 40s when Tony was born. Also, the map at the end in the SHIELD outpost has something pinpointed in Scandinavia. Sites I've seen say it's around Germany and point to Red Skull, but I'm not too sure.
Continuing in this vein, there is troubling news from Comic Con. I'm really concerned. This looks awesome, no?
I'm seriously worried it's all going to fall apart. Joss says it's going to be Ultimates (which follows with Sammy J Nick Fury), which makes me really unhappy from the beginning. Also, they gotta stop replacing actors left and right after any little discretion (I know it's Sony that is the most guilty, but still). Chris Evans, don't be disappointing.
I just don't know. I'm so worried.
I'm almost too worried to be excited.
But Karl Urban getting cast as Judge Dredd gives me some hope.
