I might as well do this here to keep everything continuous and not junk up tumblr. Here's my annual year in review survey...

"Is douche a sense?"
Jan. 1st, 2011 07:26 pmChristmas was great. My mom got me bees and soap for people in South and Central America. Jonathan came home and we hung out a lot and watched things like Equilibrium, Twilight: Eclipse (with Rifftrax), and True Grit. We finally got to go to Yolos, which we had made fun of many a time, and it was quite tasty. It was a good time.
New Years was nice. Elizabeth and I went to The End with Caitlin, Becca, and Dan. Then she and I went with Andrew to the Hilton where the wedding party he was in had a balcony view of downtown. We got there ten minutes before midnight and rang in the new year with fireworks, bubbles, and beer. It was classy.
Now I need to get all ready for Paul and Rowan to stay here and at least get a third of the way done with the baby blanket for Lucas before the shower Saturday.
Here's a survey I did a few days ago and then forgot about. How like life.

"We're going to kill yer wife!"
Dec. 31st, 2009 01:11 pmChicago was fun. Hung out with Paul and his friends most of the time. Kate and Austin's shindig was fun, but I don't really feel like I totally spent time with anyone but Robert and maybe Ted. Waking up in that tiny hotel room was super confusing though. Didn't know where I was. Also, I was proud of myself for getting from Glen Ellyn to downtown and back again. At one point I was kinda nervous, but I looked down the train car and there were two guys reading the Axis & Allies rule book and another reading Battle Royale. Comforting.
Avatar 3-D IMAX success on Tuesday night. I felt a little sick near the beginning. Don't sit in the third row. Elizabeth and I saw Up in the Air last night, which was good. One day I should update my movie review blog.
Christmas was good. Got some neat stuff including the bag of holding from thinkgeek, a Degobah frog terrarium, a gift certificate to Anthropologie, Special Edition Star Trek Blu-ray, etc. Made a good Christmas mix. Christmas party went well enough. Most of us spent our time standing around talking and laughing it up in the kitchen. Christi's boyfriend is a riot. BJ put both of us in his ugly sweater. A certain member of our party got plastered out of her mind for the first time ever. Whee! Over all, though, it wasn't very Christmasy, except for gift giving.
Need to find a ride to New Years festivities tonight. Should probably get that sorted out.

I have a D&D character to finish, a package to mail, and booze to buy.
Happy New Year!

want to know what the new year will bring? just pull up itunes or whatever other music player you use, ask it your question, and put it on shuffle to answer each question. use the titles from the resulting song as your answer:
1. health in the new year?
Young American--David Bowie ("Well, well, well, would you carry a razor/In case, just in case of depression"....great.)
2. academic success in the new year?
Crooked Teeth--Death Cab for Cutie (Does this mean I don't have a brain?)
3. financial success in the new year?
I Should Have Known Better--The Beatles (Eeep!)
4. friendships in the new year?
These Things Take Time--The Smiths (Crap. Don't they always?)
5. love in the new year?
Laura--Flogging Molly (Depressing.)
6. high of the new year?
Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off--Panic! At the Disco (That's not very promising.)
7. low of the new year?
$165 Million + Interest (Into) The Round Up--David Holmes (Down side, I'll owe a ton of money. Up side, maybe I'll get to be friends with Clooney, Pitt, and Damon.)
8. spring prediction?
White Rabbit--Jefferson Airplane (Drugs!?)
9. summer prediction?
The Libertine--Patrick Wolf (Bad things are going to happen as a result of the drugs.)
10. fall prediction?
Career Opportunities--The Clash (Sweet deal!)
11. winter prediction?
The Future Freaks Me Out--Motion City Soundtrack (So true.)
12. in 2007, always remember:
Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)--Janis Joplin (I will.)

School's good. I actually have people I can consider real friends now. Yay!
I went to Wal*Mart last night with Veronica (a fellow HP fan! Score!), Jill, Maya, and Beth. Ended up shopping with Beth who is so America-challenged (she's from England). She was talking about riding around in the "trolleys" and we were kinda looking at her funny and Jill said, "You mean shopping carts?" Beth said, "No. They're called trolleys and they will always be trolleys. Just like the loo will always be the loo." And she went through all this other stuff. Anyway, this is going to be her first real Halloween and she got these awesome wings to be an evil fairy. We made our driver, since he was both late to take us there and then to take us back to campus, stop at McDonalds, making all the other kids who wanted to go home and study wait while Veronica, Beth, and I went in to get some eats. As soon as we reached campus, they all asked to be let off, and only the three of us were dropped off at C-Haus (the designated pick-up and drop-off site). I think our driver thought we were really weird/entertaining, so he really didn't mind the insanity.
Purchased: From Dusk til Dawn, awesome pseudo-american flag Rolling Stones shirt, toothpaste (!), sexy organic milk (lovelove), and that mousse yogurt I thought they stopped making. I need to get some potatoes and leeks to make soup on Sunday from the farmer's market on Sat.
Signed up for maybe eight clubs yesterday? RHPS, The Alliance, Beloit Sci-fi and Fantasy Assoc., Comic Club, Society for Creative Anachronisms, L.O.C.H. (League of Celtic Hipsters), Hurricane Relief thing, Badminton Club (Holly started it and I had to join for her), Movie board, and Channing and I are going to try and do a radio show together, if that counts. Okay, I lied, it's more like nine or ten. But RHPS and the hurricane relief ones are short term things. I also wanted to sign up for the Pagan Fellowship and maybe/possibly/kinda Anime Society...but I think I'll be good with BSFFA. I set out just to join BSFFA and The Alliance, but....yeah, there's so much stuff, not to mention I want the inside scoop on their Mock Trial team.
Check out my awesome phone post, guys! (haha, yeah, "awesome" right.)
I have my sweet/awesome/wonderful writing class tonight with my crazy-cynical professor whom I love.
Oh, did my theater performance thing (record mime to "Birthday Cake" by Cibo Matto). Uhg. Uhg. Uhg. Sarah was the only one without a totally blank face. At least it's over. Thank God.
