I wrote a long diatribe on/to Jon Stewart, but the time for that has passed.  Suffice to say that I am none too pleased with him as of late.
Otherwise, I persist, but to what end?  I haven't figured that one out yet.
The costuming season is over.  now I will become even more of a recluse than I have been (a concept which is hard to fathom).
Thanksgiving was tasty, but a little strange.  I felt super detached this year.  That feeling made me even more uneasy.
Ann and I went Black Fridaying, mostly because she was curious.  It was a lot of fun, especially looking at the people lined up in Target.  I purchased some movies and an 8 gig flash drive, because I need more flash drives.

I think I want to gather up pictures in all the costumes I've done over the last ten years and make a big record of each one, maybe on that sorry attempt at a bloggy blog I started.  One day, I might succeed in doing this.

Maybe I should get back to pinning together the nine patch blocks for my goth quilt.

In my dream last night the neighbor behind my house started having a raucous party that spread from his backyard into mine, right up to my deck steps, with guests standing around drinking and watching a giant tv. I went out to complain, but he handed me a cup and a burger which stemmed my rage, so I ventured off my deck to mingle and there was Christopher Nolan standing all alone, swigging his booze nonchalantly. I ventured over to him and thanked him for making so many good movies. I was super short, like 5' tall, and he was at least 7'. Then we watched football together. After that things get hazy but it involved visiting Paul's mom, who suddenly was some sort of ad exec, at work, getting recruited by them, looking at their workplace handbook which was basically a Forgotten Realms RPG book, and cuddling with Joseph Gordon-Levitt during a board meeting. The lesson this dream taught me is don't go to the late late showing of Inception.

In other news, we just had a big storm. As soon as it was over our electricity went out. Go figure.

In other other news, I need to get started on my costume for my cousin's Cthulhu Live LARP, which involves making a bunch of patterns. I also need to work on a design for my rifle. I suppose I could always just reuse my TF2 sniper rifle. It needs some repair, though. Luckily, we found the drill, so maybe that'll make things easier?

GMX is in a little over two months. We need to get started early this year so I don't spend the whole week before panickedly gluing things in my garage together to make a medic gun. Time to start talking it up to Jonathan, who I think will be home from OCS by then, and assure him that the Navy will not find out that he dresses up for sci-fi cons. We're running out of things to dress up as, and we don't want to repeat. Bleh. Elizabeth proposed being characters from Inception after the movie last night. It's only a good option if we can get the costumes right and we have the briefcase. We'd make Jonathan be Cobb, she'd be Mal, and I'd be Ariadne (though I do have a good three piece suit and short hair, but I'm not sure I want to make >:C face all day). Anyway, it's a start. Hopefully we'll come up with something better in the next few weeks.

Anyway, enough about boring costuming stuff, I'm going to go cry on our router box for a bit. Maybe my tears will make the internet work.

Derp.

(It worked!)

Some garbledegook that turned into me discussing people's handling of their own and others' political viewpoints )

I hardcore still miss the Olympics. It's been like, three weeks or something, right?
Paul visited this past weekend. We went to the mall so I could get a catching helmet from the sports store that's going out of business. Ended up also buying a Maiden sweatshirt, a Turisas shirt, and day-glo orange shoelaces all at half price. Paul bought a knife blade missing its handle for 98 cents. I hope Paul comes back through post Tucson.
Today I bought things to make Jonathan a going away present. I also bought a novelty beer hat, a small bottle of Jameson, and a little boy's shirt designed by Shaun White that looks like it has Tom Petty on it. I like buying things. I need to stop that.
I'm going to jump on the volunteer wagon this summer and do as many things as I can.
Maiden is touring this summer. Chicago July 18th. I will be there. Also, new album.
I need to work on the comic book.
Now is the time for sleep. Tomorrow, drinking!

Not whole lot to report. Work all week. Go to trivia on Sunday. Repeat.
Jonathan, Elizabeth, and I went to Boondock Saints 2 and ended up really enjoying it.
Decorated the lawn for the holidays for the first time in forever.
Been on a serious Maiden bender for a while. Steve Harris is the most adorable ever.
In Chicago for a week now. Yaaaay!

I need better fodder for my lj entries.

I need to update better.
Chicago turned out to be much fun. There are pictures here. I now have a stuffed squid and a storm trooper belt buckle.

The first thing I did upon coming home was see Star Trek with Jonathan and Kevin, and holy shit. [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek has taken over my life in so many ways. I need to re-watch TNG now.

Someone tried to steal my car a few weeks ago. Broke the window and cut all the wiring on the steering column. Epic fail on their part. All they managed to do was make the car undrivable and bleed all over the place.

Have a new laptop. Has a gig dedicated to the graphics card. Wow is beautiful. Restarted my account. I should ding 80 soon.

Taking a class at Vandy. US 1877-1945. It's pretty good so far.
Unemployed. I need to do something away from Nashville, I think.

We didn't go to Hypericon. I pointed out to Elizabeth we could achieve the same effect by dressing up and sitting around my house.

Hung out with Jenny and her new car on Thursday and had bubble tea for the first time. I'm not so sure about it. Went to a talk at the Frist by a former co-worker I have a major friend-crush on.

Finished Dollhouse. Lolwhut, Joss?

Want to have a little kid birthday party next weekend, but seeing as all the movies that come out on my birthday suck, it might have to be ST themed. I wouldn't complain. Also, loltastic.

Back to stumbling and making icons? D:

I have a crick in my neck that hurts like a son of a bitch.
I may be coming home for spring break, esp. if Reid (and Andrew?) comes down to visit Caitlin.
I don't have class until 12pm tomorrow. Praise Jesus!
One of my front teeth hurts.
What are these strange ailments?
Sally gives us, her roomies, waaay too much candy.
I need to finish editing the layout for my film page.
Speaking of which, I want to get a team together for the 48 hour film making challenge.
I'm just kinda talking because I found out I don't have to read the next section for Russian History until Thursday, but I do need to read for Rock History.
But first, The Clash.
