Long time no post.
First I'd like to say I have renewed hope about health care reform and reaching accross the aisle and all that jazz, though a lot of the Repubs looked like a bunch of assholes throughout the whole address.

In the last month I've procrastinated on my paper a lot. You know the one I need to write and then I'll be done with college? The one I should just do and it'll be over? That one. I was starting to work on it...

Then last week Mike, Nate, and Trevor showed up in Nashville. It was excellent.
Nate and Trevor stayed here and mostly usurped my computers to play games, though they did an awesome amount of yard work for my mom and fixed our knocked down fence. Even put a gate in it. Fed a duck around about two dozen Canada Geese in the park. Played lava monster tag in Dragon park.
Mike decided to stay here instead of at Sarah and Caitlin's when Nate and Trevor's friend Abby came down. Mike and I took her around a bunch of places. Then we hunted for the Orange Box and ended up spending much of the rest of the week playing video games. It was a lot like college in the video games/not going outside/lying in piles/eating large burgers way...which is the part I miss a lot. Trevor and I played Portal until 5am, taking waaay too long to beat it. TF2 was nearly everything I wanted it to be.
I sadly missed Katie's shindig, which reports tell me was somewhere from "awesomest evar" to "a roller coaster of fun and not fun".

I've been kinda bummed out since those kids left. Pretty sure my second least favorite thing is saying goodbye to college people (least favorite thing still being throwing up). I'm now powering through my paper so I have nothing preventing me from doing whatever comes up, whether it's going to Texas or killing copious amounts of time visiting people in Chicago and Madison or going on an urban renewal program in Europe.
The research is about done. Writing starts tomorrow. It will be done by Friday night.

Further updates to follow.

I can't sleep. I tried my usual insomnia medication (one dose of RDJ, preferably in a depressed or alcoholic role, applied directly to the brain), but it didn't work. Lay here for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half--nothing. Ann's coming to get me in t minus five hours to go shopping. I really should try and get some rest.
In other news, I'm home now. 11 hour trip door to door. I hate flying so hard.
Starting to sense that my parents are going to have me watching Rachel Maddow every night, which I'm more than okay with, especially after her report tonight about Obama inviting Rick Warren to participate in his inauguration.
Last week of school not as movie and drunk filled as Mike and I had hoped. We did watch TDK rifftrax which were very good, and I drank a little too much. Unfortunately we then showed Mitchell the Iron Man rifftrax and played the drinking game as well. I rolled around on the floor a lot afterwords and pet my door affectionately many times. I think we ended up watching the I Want Love video at least twice as well. Then I was sick in the morning. Gotta stop doing that.
My eyes are starting to get a little fuzzy, perhaps even a bit bleary and sleepy? Is it too much to ask?
I'm going to try sleep again.

I got home a few days ago. We made the trip in one day, getting home around 3am. I got a new monitor for my computer and it is HUGE (22") and flat. Sarah and I left for Knoxville to be in Charity's wedding on Friday. We did a shitton of decorating and organizing, then stayed up until 4:30 in the morning playing Rockband and this Japanese drum game on the DS. Also, I actually got to see this weeks episode of BSG :D

The wedding itself was actually really cute and nice. Pictures will soon be on the interwebs. Sarah caught to bouquet and was fairly exasperated about it. Sarah and I went to see a few people in Knoxville, which resulted in free beer and cream soda and an amazing pineapple, chicken, and pesto wheat pizza. We talked about a lot of things, mainly how we've kinda turned into completely different people now, which is kind of sad, but something that we just have to accept.

I need to figure out where I'm taking my mom to dinner tonight and start planning out the components of the spartan armor I intend to make. Also, we need better internet up in this bitch like woah.

Tommy guns are awesome. Thank you History Channel. There are all these historians sitting around holding these things, musing about the fact that you can put 100 bullets in someone in 8 seconds. The 20s were neat.

I am also stuffing my face with triscuits.

NYC was fun, though a little overwhelming. We went to the aquarium, Coney Island, Magnolia, Canal St., St. Mark's, as well as just hanging around, babysitting, and going to services on Saturday. I discovered that I really should be a 15 year old boy with interests like mine. I got to see Abby, Chris, Angie, and Ben, which made me really happy since I didn't see them a lot last semester. My purchases amounted to a pair of red and black stripped pants, a leather Biggie-style hat, and an Iron Maiden belt buckle that I haggled the price from 35-40$ to 15$.

(Oh God, Prohibition, my least favorite thing ever.)

Home is good. I'm okay with being here now, the big city helped in that. I've seen POTC3 and Ocean's 13, worked almost a full week, badly torn a fingernail, and been to the gay bar for Sarah's birthday since I've been back. I've also started work on the props for Hypericon (which is next weekend!!!!). Paper mache is fun and I think it's going to work out. The Explorer's body isn't as pointy as it should be, but whatever, it's good enough. I need to get some other things in order and figure out what I'm dressing as the other two days.

Furthermore, my boots are on the way. I'm really excited.

Pointless: The School Year in Review. )

So, last few days were interesting. Mostly it was spent scrambling to get the comic done--working until 7am, sleeping until 1 and repeating, though the last night Nate and I got about 2 hours of sleep each and Mike got none. That night was fun, moving all my and Maya's shit into French House storage, cleaning Mike's room and the lounge. At one point Mike, Ward, Nate, and I went to DKs and ordered one of everything and attempted to eat it. We also sacrificed animals to the tiki god. (Pictures coming soon.)

The last day, Mike set off for Switzersweden on no sleep. Nate and I printed the comic and presented it to Jim. I'm going to miss him so much, but he said he would come visit. After taking care of last minute school things, Nate helped me pack for a while. Then, my dad and and I set off for home and here I am.

So far I've seen Reid, Caitlin, Sarah, and Ann. I expect to see everyone else before I go to Jersey/NYC on like the 25th or something. Nate Rogers and I are going to attempt to see Ben Gibbard tomorrow night. Hopefully this will go well.

I want/need to learn to play bass and buy a truck. Until then, I'll be in my room playing Soul Calibur and listening to Iron Maiden.

Edit: Pictures of the slaughtering are now here.

What I got for Christmas?
Sweet digital camera. Nice green sweater. Clone High on DVD! Neat books. Pretty wooden bracelet. Far Side calendar. Pearls. We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions by Bruce Springsteen (it is amazing). Neato tights...and an array of other things that I like.

My mother and I have been going shopping a lot, which is kind of fun. Pretty much the only things I have gotten for me are a strange tic-tac-toe shot glass set (with glass game board??) and these super-awesome shoes (high heels that are this metallic pink-gold color with brownish ribbon accents and a big bow on the strap). I bought a plethora of presents for friends.

Yesterday, I ventured to the Jewplex with Nate where we hung out with Kevin, Christi, Za, Nathan, Caitlin, and Becca...and other people who arrived later. They played with the Wii, we tried to find an available copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special, other people ate the dreaded tira misu that my mom and I couldn't eat more than 1/7th of in a week, and weChristi took a ton of pictures. I played Super Smash Bros. for the first time ever and sucked pretty hardcore. Caitlin went to bed, Christi and Za left, and a whole bunch of people that I was kinda scared of in high school showed up, so Nate and I left and watched Spinal Tap with Kevin at my house. There are pictures of these incidents on facebook.

I miss everyone from college. I can't quite believe that Maya and Alina will not be there. I have the feeling that Abby and I will be sad bastards for a few days.

I should wrap presents tomorrow and mail that thing I have to mail tomorrow...it probably will not get there in time, but oh well.

It figures. As soon as I get home, I get sick.
I spent all of Tuesday packing, cleaning, and helping Maya get everything squared away. It really sucks how she's not going to be there when we get back. Pretty much everyone left on Tuesday, including an overly worrisome Jessie who was then stranded in Denver for three days (at least).

Wednesday was spent driving to O'Hare with Robert and Maya, nearly missing my plane, and lounging around the house with my parents.

Thursday Sarah came over for a bit, we went to the "Murf!", and the jexplex before coming back and watching the beginning of Love Actually.

Yesterday I went places with my mater, as I did today also, after a lovely lunch with Ann.

Now I get to drive to my grandparent's house for Christmas, get heinously depressed like every year, and come home Christmas Day. Woopie.

I really miss Beloit people a whole lot. They should all come visit me and make things un-boring.

I did receive an amazing Christmas card from Sammi. I got very excited. I still am.

My updates have been rather devoid of content as of late.

First and foremost, pictures.

Letseeeeeeeee... Well, Wednesday before last, the 3rd, I believe, was the last day of classes, so naturally everyone on campus was trashed. Wine and Cheese party at Alliance was amazing. There was fancy Guinness cheese. Kyle, Natalie, Abby, and I all had a little too much wine. Then we had Robert's b-day party which involved us "taking a plane" to Ireland and Robert wearing a sombrero and receiving fireworks. After that we went to the championship frisbee game, didn't watch frisbee at all, and I spent most of the time acting the fool with Christina and Channing, I love them both so much. Upon our return to campus, we got to see a box set on fire and dumped over the side of the Aldrich balcony, sat outside with Mike, Maya, Sam, and Ester and talked for a while. Went to bed.

That weekend was okay. I don't really remember what we did on Friday. Packed and cleaned? Saturday started out pretty okay, with my Art final, huge fireworks Ted set off on the quad, tea in Natalie's room, and running around outside. Sadly, it took a turn for the drama inducing later on. Sunday we put all our crap in storage. I think I spent the rest of Sunday and Monday doing my take home final for Russian history. Ew.

Sarah came to spend the night on Monday, which was pretty swell. Tuesday we spent all day packing my stuff into the car and left for Milwaukee, spent the night at her aunt's house, and then drove to St. Louis on Wednesday (I drove for a really long time which was lots of fun).

St. Louis was fun, despite the fact that we lay around and watched movies most of the time (though we did go to the Botanical Gardens). Pride and Prejudice, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, From Dusk Til Dawn, X2, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars: A New Hope. St. Louis is a really cool city. Oh, we also bought Lyda's (or Tate's) new book Tall, Dark, and Dead which is pretty good so far. We came back to Nashvegas on Saturday. I have to unpack still, which I think I'm going to go do in a sec.

It's been rather rainy and disagreeable out for the last couple of days. Starting work tomorrow (at Vanderbilt again, God help me). Graduation on Thursday (though I counted and there are only 7 member of the class of '06 that I actually care about, compared to 12 or so juniors). Renfest on Saturday (I need to get my outfit together). I can't wait to see everyone (though I did see Kevin last night).

I think that's it...

This post serves little other purpose than to say:

I'M COMING HOME, B-OTCHES!

I'm Home!!!!!!!!!!!1111one
I was so not too enthusiastic about this a few days ago, but after hanging out with everyone last night, I couldn't be happier!
Was picked up by Kevin and Chris around 3ish, went to Taco Bell, per usual, decided to try and tye-dye Kevin's car one day, went to the Opry Mills Mall. Read "The O'Riley Factor for Kids" and Chris could not get over the fact that the "Complete Idiot's Guide to Running" was longer than math, history, and rugby books. Met up with Blake, Nate, Christi, Caitlin, and Katie. Bought really inexpensive stuff for people at Hot Topic (ewww). Ran into Anderson, Oliver, Kristin, and Ruth. Went to Coco. Met up with BJ, saw Alex W., Blake's cousin, some girl Kevin knows, MICHAEL YEAGER!, JEREMIAH!, and maybe some other people. Had sooooo much fun. Kevin and Blake stole Nate's (parent's) car, so we sat in Kevin's car and ate Trail Mix.

Everything is right with the world.

I was so incredibly happy when I got home, and I still am, even though I've been walking around in my 5 inch platforms all day Christmas shopping. Today, I saw Dr. Gilmore, BETH!, Cathy, and Adam...I think that's it. I bought Christmas presents for people (including a v. nice one for you, Nate, so love it or I'll have your head). Yay!

I keep wanting to "ctrl+s" this. I've been writing papers for TOO LONG!
Going to see the grandparents tomorrow. I hope my parent's will let me drive down. I love driving like none other.

Christmas mix anyone? )

I can't wait for New Years partying, though Caitlin will be with her love in Boston, which is sad for us, but happy for her (and Reid)!

(You may have noticed the complete lack of a certain "best friend". That's cause she's a stupid bitch and is in Knoxville with her motherfucking boyfriend. Am I bitter? Yes, a little. Do I really care that much anymore? No, and that might make me a bad person.)

When I got here I wished I was still in Wisconsin. Now I don't want to leave.
...
I'll edit this later with more of a thing about being here... I need to go sew/pack/geek out more.
