Long time no post.
First I'd like to say I have renewed hope about health care reform and reaching accross the aisle and all that jazz, though a lot of the Repubs looked like a bunch of assholes throughout the whole address.

In the last month I've procrastinated on my paper a lot. You know the one I need to write and then I'll be done with college? The one I should just do and it'll be over? That one. I was starting to work on it...

Then last week Mike, Nate, and Trevor showed up in Nashville. It was excellent.
Nate and Trevor stayed here and mostly usurped my computers to play games, though they did an awesome amount of yard work for my mom and fixed our knocked down fence. Even put a gate in it. Fed a duck around about two dozen Canada Geese in the park. Played lava monster tag in Dragon park.
Mike decided to stay here instead of at Sarah and Caitlin's when Nate and Trevor's friend Abby came down. Mike and I took her around a bunch of places. Then we hunted for the Orange Box and ended up spending much of the rest of the week playing video games. It was a lot like college in the video games/not going outside/lying in piles/eating large burgers way...which is the part I miss a lot. Trevor and I played Portal until 5am, taking waaay too long to beat it. TF2 was nearly everything I wanted it to be.
I sadly missed Katie's shindig, which reports tell me was somewhere from "awesomest evar" to "a roller coaster of fun and not fun".

I've been kinda bummed out since those kids left. Pretty sure my second least favorite thing is saying goodbye to college people (least favorite thing still being throwing up). I'm now powering through my paper so I have nothing preventing me from doing whatever comes up, whether it's going to Texas or killing copious amounts of time visiting people in Chicago and Madison or going on an urban renewal program in Europe.
The research is about done. Writing starts tomorrow. It will be done by Friday night.

Further updates to follow.

Watch this before you do anything else.

Despite doing a whole lot of nothing, I haven't made time to update recently. I suppose that it wouldn't be very interesting, though, what with being an entry about whole lot of nothing.
I got my "I'm ronery..." stuff out in my actual journal, so I don't need to emote here, except to say I really miss a lot of people pretty hardcore. :C Kinda getting me down.

Gov passed away a few weeks ago after being sick for a very long time. His service was nice. Everyone being together was also nice, despite it being a sad occasion.

Last week Jonathan, Elizabeth, and I drove to Chattanooga. I wish I had a working camera to take pictures of some of the awesome and pretty things we saw on the way. We saw Star Trek on IMAX finally. It was very large.

In a dream I had the other night I was living in an Avengers type tower with some friends and a group of Jedi were moving in downstairs. However, they were generally looked down upon by society, so Elizabeth tried to hide the fact that she thought one of them was cute. Other than that we all just ate some food, played card rpg games, and lay around on large brightly colored pillows.

Have fallen back in love with /co/, but it's still not as nice as when I first started posting there.
After listening to Patrick Wolf's latest album on repeat for a while I've decided it's really good.
Paper needs to happen really soon.

I really need to do better at this whole adult thing soon. Before too long I'm going to need to gtfo my parents house before I go nuts (not that they're driving me nuts or anything, I'm going to drive myself nuts being here). Just kinda at a loss all the way around right now. Durr.

Here are a few photos from the summer including Spock as the Heisman Trophy.

Harry Potter proved to be fun. Sarah looked like an undead, ultra flamboyant founding father (young Tom Riddle). Elizabeth had awesome scale face makeup she did herself (Nigini). And I half-assed my way D: (Tonks). Next movie Sarah and I have settled on Grindlewald and Dumbledore. Last movie, Dead!Sirius and Dead!Remus.

Mike, Elsbeth, and Paul came to visit for a few days. It was a lot of fun. I miss them a whole lot :(

I have so much nerdraging to do I can't keep my head straight to do it properly. Torchwood, Iron Man 2, Captain America, Matt Fraction...it never ends. I mean, Black Widow, really? She's one of my least favorite characters. Maybe it's just cause she's up on Tony's junk all the time, but that sort of thing doesn't usually bother me. I don't know, she just bothers me. Also, as much as I like Scarlett Johansson, I'm not sure she's going to be able to pull off Natasha. I'm just dubious all the way around, but enough of that. I'll post something of content soon, I promise.

Star Trek just shit the bed on me.
All my drops in WoW suck.
Further updates to follow.

I need to update better.
Chicago turned out to be much fun. There are pictures here. I now have a stuffed squid and a storm trooper belt buckle.

The first thing I did upon coming home was see Star Trek with Jonathan and Kevin, and holy shit. [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek has taken over my life in so many ways. I need to re-watch TNG now.

Someone tried to steal my car a few weeks ago. Broke the window and cut all the wiring on the steering column. Epic fail on their part. All they managed to do was make the car undrivable and bleed all over the place.

Have a new laptop. Has a gig dedicated to the graphics card. Wow is beautiful. Restarted my account. I should ding 80 soon.

Taking a class at Vandy. US 1877-1945. It's pretty good so far.
Unemployed. I need to do something away from Nashville, I think.

We didn't go to Hypericon. I pointed out to Elizabeth we could achieve the same effect by dressing up and sitting around my house.

Hung out with Jenny and her new car on Thursday and had bubble tea for the first time. I'm not so sure about it. Went to a talk at the Frist by a former co-worker I have a major friend-crush on.

Finished Dollhouse. Lolwhut, Joss?

Want to have a little kid birthday party next weekend, but seeing as all the movies that come out on my birthday suck, it might have to be ST themed. I wouldn't complain. Also, loltastic.

Back to stumbling and making icons? D:

I feel bad for not being more interested in the Olympics. Seriously.
Clone Wars was exceedingly mediocre Jonathan and I decided. Sammuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee--I know why Anthony Daniels was able to voice C3P-0 in this cartoon, he doesn't do much else, but you two? I mean, wtf?
Acne resurfacing slightly. Only disturbing because this means antibiotics may no longer affect my system which kinda blows and wasn't supposed to happen. Also , I feel like a major fat kid.
Watched a really baaaad movie with Caitlin and Elizabeth. It was pretty awesome.
Today was my last day of work.
Leaving for Beloit in 4 days, I think.

This summer (the full recap even though it wasn't terribly exciting): )-Summer can be summed up by the influence of 5 people: Barrowman, Tennant, Fielding, Bowie, and Goans.

On Thursday the 24th, Sebastian died after three years of loyal service. It wasn't exactly sudden, he had been sick for over a year, but at some point Thursday afternoon his little hard drive just stopped spinning altogether. Despite multiple attempts at reviving him, his illness was too great. Ilu Sebastian <3.
With my recent paycheck I have purchased Hamlet, one of these newfangled, superthin, 80gig monsters. He's okay, I guess. V. shiny.

Saw IMAX Batman (overwhelming and awesome) and Elizabeth (<3!) and I fangirled out about various insignificant things throughout.
Dinged 69...finally.
Am rereading Watchmen because I forgot about half of what happened. Halloween=Rorschach.
Played D&D VERY briefly last weekend. It involved a pony, a kick-ass blond girl, and booze.
Watched The Bunker. It was strange, British, and Jack Davenport-y.
Talked with nice boy who looks like Neil Patrick Harris working at Starbucks who played with Harry and the Potters at a gig.
V. tired.
Gross weather is gross.
Something SUPER WEIRD just happened when lightning struck involving the light above me and the balloon tied to my chair 0.o Halp.

Things:
+Saw The Dark Knight this weekend with Ann and my mom. I realized that, yes, this is still what I want to do with my life. It's going to be a bitch and take some time, but I seriously want to be in the film industry.
+Found really cheap Alexander McQueen clothes :D
+Caught up on Venture Bros.
+Car broke down on the way home Monday >.<
+Started wanting to play wow again.
+Go between really wanting to go back to school and really not giving a fuck.
+Going through Guitar Hero/Rockband withdrawal.
+Watched Get Smart the other night. I liked it :D
+Miss Elizabeth something fierce D:
+One day we'll actually play D&D.
+Sometimes my job drives me batshit insane.
+Am hooongry.

I'm thirsty as sin and have no change or dollars for the drink machine next door. Piss.
Coping with the end of Who by watching other stuff. Life on Mars is really good. The Sarah Jane Adventures are also surprisingly fun. Also, finding BBC shows that aired 4+ years ago is haaaaard.
Other than that, I'm done with Oceanography, working most of the time, trying to knit a Tom Baker scarf, and hanging out with my mom. I kinda want to go back to school, but not before I've made my mom watch all this crap I've been watching.

And now to record this long-ass Doctor Who analogy, so Elizabeth and I can remember it later )

That took all of my lunch break. Jesus.

There's this shelf of free stuff in the science and engineering library. I found a brand new pocket watch and chain. It's quite patriotic.
I have research paper on the kraken due Friday and need to have two costumes+props for the weekend. I still need a big box hella bad. Lowes fails in every way.
Have strange yearning to actually watch shark attack 3 (with Elizabeth). Cannot wait for new who. Am devastated that there's no new bsg. Working, learning, exercising, and subsisting off of hope & fandom currently. Feel better all the time, actually. Now if only I could find a place for all the crap in my room.

I'm at work. There's a loooong meeting going on (about furniture) and I'm supposed to lay low and do a very specific task on this computer (changing one word in the data base on like 150 images). Problem is, I'm done with it and now am stuck in a cubicle with nothing to do but recheck my work over and over and listen the Scissor Sisters. Could be worse.

I'm going to DM a 4e D&D game for my friends. I hope I don't super suck or anything.

Um, con is coming up and Elizabeth and I still haven't gotten anything together. We pretty much need EVERYTHING for our colonial fatigues. I need a grey coat of awesomeness. Lowes fails at giving me a tardis-sized box. It's time to get in gear and take my business elsewhere.

Also, fandom, I didn't realize I missed you this much. I'm glad I've come back. :D

Over the course of the last week and a half/two weeks I've watched all of Doctor Who and Torchwood. I feel geeky (oh so geeky), but marathoning sci-fi shows that are new to me is possibly the best escape ever. I've been dorking out with Elizabeth too :D

I got a ton of my hair chopped off.
My Oceanography class just started.
I start work tomorrow.
Elizabeth and I are so moving to Great Britain in a few years and working for the bbc.
Despite the overall day to day mundaneness, I feel better than I have in a long time.

Sleepy time.

Pictures live here.

4th of July was fun. Sarah, Elizabeth, and I had the LAMEST water balloon fight in the history of water balloon fights. All the balloons were condom shaped. Despite filling them fully with water they refused to burst properly, so we were basically beating each other with sacks of water. It hurt. We drove to the ballpark and shot off fireworks on the adjacent golf course, which was a lot of fun. We saw a lot of neat firework displays from different areas of town as we drove down Charlotte.

Sunday was Jenny's birthday celebration. We ended up at my house playing Guitar Hero until Kate, Nate, and Elizabeth left. Jenny, Sarah, and I played dress up and went to Goth night at Code Blue, which was actually a lot of fun. We goth danced. We're going back this Sunday and Jenny and I get in free for being Cancers. My mother also returned from Tullahoma on sunday after a week away, during which my dad and I moved my entire room around and ate little else than ham sandwiches mac and cheese respectively. Also, bad movie watching (Queen of the Damned, anyone?)

Tuesday night=OotP movie. Elizabeth, Sarah, and I dressed up. Za=Trelawney, Sarah=Bellatrix, I=Tonks. Saw the movie with Jonathan at midnight. Stylistically I really loved it. The ministry looked BAD ASS. There were things I was upset about, namely the near lack of Snape's Worst Memory and the total lameocity of the end. Also, i feel v. bad for whoever must clean up the Hall of Prophecy. I'd hate to be the first Unspeakable at work the next morning.

Yesterday we attempted to watch Interview and hung out with Jenny, her English boyfriend and a friend of theirs also from England. It was pretty fun. I found and purchased the first Return of Tag and Bink comic at Great Escape. I'm v. excited. Also, my boots came! They kept getting lost in the mail between PA and here and they finally got to meeeeee! I came out of my room at 2 yesterday and there was a box sitting there. I picked it up and walked into the den where my dad was and said "For real!?" and he just laughed at me.

But, to be honest, I'm just waiting until weekend after next. So, costuming...Sirius/Remus/James/Peter (a stuffed rat if we can't find anyone to be him) or Bellatrix/Narcissa/Andromeda? I can't help but think of these things. I need a hobby that I enjoy more than costuming, but I think it'll be hard to find one.

I hate the shift key on this keyboard. It doesn't really work.
Well, that was long and unnecessary. :D

IT IS SO NICE OUTSIDE! It is 77 degrees. WHY AM I NOT OUT THERE!? WHY SO MANY CAPITAL LETTERS!!!????

Anyway, last week was good. Declared my History major. Dropped Computer Science. Yes. Friday was spent reading comics, and watching UHF & The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T., which I fell asleep during. Sad. Saturday was supposed to be SuperFunAdventure Day, but it was canceled due to video games. I played Halo for the first time and sucked horribly, but it was a lot of fun. Shira and I made cake very late at night. I watched Mike and Nate unlock a new character on Soul Caliber 2 until five in the morning and we all fell asleep in the lounge. Sunday=sitting outside and not writing my paper, RPing and not writing my paper, watching the amazing season finale of BSG and not writing my paper, and writing my paper.

I am going to New York post-Jersey for the end of May/beginning of June. I will therefore miss Adventure Con and Sarah & Katie's Birthdays. Suck. On the plus side I get to go to the beach with my family for the first time in forever and VISIT MAYA. Before all that I need to figure out how I'm going to get the rest of my school work done before May. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Love is over.
