They make you want to do things, like yell obscenities, hurt people,drink, and zip through I-Pass lanes with no I-pass, while flipping off the camera.
They are also amazing in concert.
REALLY amazing.
I hope my hearing returns soon.
The Briggs, The Deadpets, and Flat Foot 56 opened for them. The Deadpets were pretty amazing (they're from Leeds). They made fun of emo kids and myspace. "I have all my hair in my face. I'm sad. Maybe some girl will come along and suck my dick." Thanks guys, thanks. They covered "Great Balls of Fire". Flat Foot 56 was also tons of fun. They played "Amazing Grace" ala Dropkick Murphys and had electric bagpipes. They covered "Kung Fu Fighting". The Briggs were okay, nothing too special...and the only band from the US. Flogging Molly dedicated "Selfish Man" to George Bush, which was amazing. "Whistles the Wind" was incredible...well, everything was pretty much incredible. Beth was last in line at the merch booth when they were closing it down (what the hell is this about a curfew, anyway. Stupid Chicago.) and managed to snag us each a shirt. When we got back to campus we went to Robert's room and each had a 1/3 glass of Bailey's.
May I just say that I cannot wait for St. Patti's day?
