Sarah cosplayed Chii from Chobits and I was Miwako from Paradise Kiss.
We put my hair in curlers Friday night and then put lots of hairspray on the curls and sprayed them pink. My scalp is still pink. We lost Sarah's wallet, but found it quickly in the parking lot.
Bought stuff. Sarah: Cat bus pin, Chii pin, Rei and Auska figurines, air gun, "Yaoi: It's good for the children" pin... Me: "I <3 Yaoi" shirt, "You will love the People's J-Pop" pin (with Stalin!). A Lupin pin & an "Androgyny Rocks!" pin for Caitlin and a Ginji magnet for Cashon (he actually giggled when we gave it to him this morning).
Saw kick ass AMVs....I take that back there were only two kick ass ones, a few good ones, and a bunch of "eh" ones.
6)I can't remember what song it was, I think "Am I Awake" or something like that, to one of the Lum movies. V. good.
5)Naruto stuff to Drowning Pool's "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor. It was actually surprisingly good.
4)The top three were actually non-music AMVs. The Spiderman 2 trailer audio to Yu-Gi-Oh. HILARIOUS. Just Hilarious.
3)Lots of butts from different Animes to Baby Got Back. Scary at times, but really super uber funny.
2)Outlaws of the Carribbean POTC's trailer audio to Outlaw Star, v. good.
1)The best that only got an honorable mention in competition because everyone sucks, but I think it was also the crowd favorite: The audio from the first scene in Desparado, with Buscemi telling Cheech about Banderas shooting up this bar, but with animation from Trigun. It was fucking awesome and can be downloaded here. Vash is teh sex. So is Wolfwood.
The "eh" ones were from Fushugi Yugi (that was actually pretty well done, just sappy), a serious Yu-Gi-Oh one (WTF.), stuff from some movie (by the guy who did Totoro, what is his name!?) to a Garth Brooks song (AAHHHHH!), some other stuff that I can't remember.
Waited outside for 2 freezing hours to see cosplay, made some new friends. We were loud and obnoxious during cosplay. At one point the MC had to stall because a judge was using the potty or something, and he was singing the theme from some sappy anime and every one made disgruntled noises. He said "Hey, I take requests," so the five of us, Za, me, and our three new friends, all yelled "BABY GOT BACK!" and the dude sang it. It was great.
Sarah didn't win anything at the cosplay...it was sad. But we did get to see an episode of Full Metal Panic, which was insanely funny.
I can't really think of much else right now....yeah.
These might take a while to load, or maybe not, I don't know.
This one, from Final Fantasy, is 100% accurate, I'm told. I've never actually played the game so I don't really know anyone's names or anything. (This one is Pain, right?)
