Watch this before you do anything else.

Despite doing a whole lot of nothing, I haven't made time to update recently. I suppose that it wouldn't be very interesting, though, what with being an entry about whole lot of nothing.
I got my "I'm ronery..." stuff out in my actual journal, so I don't need to emote here, except to say I really miss a lot of people pretty hardcore. :C Kinda getting me down.

Gov passed away a few weeks ago after being sick for a very long time. His service was nice. Everyone being together was also nice, despite it being a sad occasion.

Last week Jonathan, Elizabeth, and I drove to Chattanooga. I wish I had a working camera to take pictures of some of the awesome and pretty things we saw on the way. We saw Star Trek on IMAX finally. It was very large.

In a dream I had the other night I was living in an Avengers type tower with some friends and a group of Jedi were moving in downstairs. However, they were generally looked down upon by society, so Elizabeth tried to hide the fact that she thought one of them was cute. Other than that we all just ate some food, played card rpg games, and lay around on large brightly colored pillows.

Have fallen back in love with /co/, but it's still not as nice as when I first started posting there.
After listening to Patrick Wolf's latest album on repeat for a while I've decided it's really good.
Paper needs to happen really soon.

I really need to do better at this whole adult thing soon. Before too long I'm going to need to gtfo my parents house before I go nuts (not that they're driving me nuts or anything, I'm going to drive myself nuts being here). Just kinda at a loss all the way around right now. Durr.

Here are a few photos from the summer including Spock as the Heisman Trophy.

Harry Potter proved to be fun. Sarah looked like an undead, ultra flamboyant founding father (young Tom Riddle). Elizabeth had awesome scale face makeup she did herself (Nigini). And I half-assed my way D: (Tonks). Next movie Sarah and I have settled on Grindlewald and Dumbledore. Last movie, Dead!Sirius and Dead!Remus.

Mike, Elsbeth, and Paul came to visit for a few days. It was a lot of fun. I miss them a whole lot :(

I have so much nerdraging to do I can't keep my head straight to do it properly. Torchwood, Iron Man 2, Captain America, Matt Fraction...it never ends. I mean, Black Widow, really? She's one of my least favorite characters. Maybe it's just cause she's up on Tony's junk all the time, but that sort of thing doesn't usually bother me. I don't know, she just bothers me. Also, as much as I like Scarlett Johansson, I'm not sure she's going to be able to pull off Natasha. I'm just dubious all the way around, but enough of that. I'll post something of content soon, I promise.

Star Trek just shit the bed on me.
All my drops in WoW suck.
Further updates to follow.

What is this I don't even?

News flash: This is the first time I've seen my dog asleep since she was a puppy. I think she hasn't slept for three years...UNTIL NOW.

Further updates to follow.

FUCK. THIS.

I need to update better.
Chicago turned out to be much fun. There are pictures here. I now have a stuffed squid and a storm trooper belt buckle.

The first thing I did upon coming home was see Star Trek with Jonathan and Kevin, and holy shit. [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek has taken over my life in so many ways. I need to re-watch TNG now.

Someone tried to steal my car a few weeks ago. Broke the window and cut all the wiring on the steering column. Epic fail on their part. All they managed to do was make the car undrivable and bleed all over the place.

Have a new laptop. Has a gig dedicated to the graphics card. Wow is beautiful. Restarted my account. I should ding 80 soon.

Taking a class at Vandy. US 1877-1945. It's pretty good so far.
Unemployed. I need to do something away from Nashville, I think.

We didn't go to Hypericon. I pointed out to Elizabeth we could achieve the same effect by dressing up and sitting around my house.

Hung out with Jenny and her new car on Thursday and had bubble tea for the first time. I'm not so sure about it. Went to a talk at the Frist by a former co-worker I have a major friend-crush on.

Finished Dollhouse. Lolwhut, Joss?

Want to have a little kid birthday party next weekend, but seeing as all the movies that come out on my birthday suck, it might have to be ST themed. I wouldn't complain. Also, loltastic.

Back to stumbling and making icons? D:

Been a while. Uhh...
Saw Wolverine with Mike, Elsbeth, Nate, and Paul for free. It was going okay until Mike and I started looking at each other during very un-cannon-y parts and he'd mouth "Whut?" and I'd shrug and shake my head. Wtf, movie.

Last game was a Star Wars pick-up that we spent more time creating characters for than actually playing. Hung out with Jim who apologized for sucking at being a friend. Had a Cube marathon. Lots of Culver's runs. Mike and I got pizza and sat in the park and talked for a long time on a nice day about a week ago, that was a lot of fun. Power cleaned Bill's room with Mike, Nate, and Paul. Scored a bunch of loose change and a leather jacket for helping. Throwback to freshman year golf was kind of depressing. Kate, Kira, and I were the only ones who did a theme and I took off early to help clean our house. Played with a mountain board. Fucked up a knee and knuckles on my right hand. It got hit by a car.

Oh boy. Cleaning our house. It went on for days. Break for making my cap look like D-Day and surprise not-pound-of-beef. More cleaning and packing. Clare, Nate, and I tried to finish Cowboy Bebop but we all fell asleep. Kinda lame for our last night to all be together.
Sunday, graduation seemed to take forever. Patrick suggested the two of us should have red ropes, like the gold academic honors ones, but for people who sucked at college. Walked around with Jim a lot. Lunch with Saturday Adventure Club. Then joined in on the epic cleaning that Mike had been at most of the day. Cleaned until about midnight when utter exhaustion set in. Finally finished the last bits by 1. Held pinkies one last time. Mike and Patrick went to the Baymont. Nate and I went to Paul's. There must have been at least a dozen people staying there. We made a nest in a corner upstairs with some bean bags, a big round pillow, a comforter and a fleece blanket-mat thing. Passed out.

Now I'm in Chicago. Until Saturday early evening. Might get to hang out with Kate and Jim Friday. Yesterday was awful as whenever I wasn't actively doing something I either passed out or got really really depressed. Today was better, mostly due to talking to Mike last night and realizing most of us are screwed come August and maybe we should make some plans.
I need a distraction.
This sucks a lot.

Week in review so I can immortalize my last, fascinating weeks of college in livememory.

Tuesday: Told that I was not going to pass Jenelle's class, and therefore would not actually be graduating for reals. Worked on elevator caper with Paul. Watched Trigun with Nate until we fell asleep.

Wednesday: Elevator caper. Pictures here. Turned science center elevator into a p.i. office. I was Cynthia, Dixon Hill's secretary. Being on an elevator all day does weird things to your legs. Watched The Shining for the first time. It was kind of disturbing and scary. Nate falling asleep and breathing on the back of my neck didn't help. Jack Nicholson might be the only person who's gotten less creepy with age.

Thursday: Dicking around...I don't remember anything specific.

Friday: Meeting about academic things. I can probably just take a summer course to square it away. Whew. Concert/recital thing. Lit ball with Clare. Finished Trigun finally.

Saturday: Really really free market. Worked on bikeshare bike with Paul. Sunburn. Worked on Mike's car a little. Beers outside with those other kids. Watched Wall-e with Paul, Clare, and Nate. It was adorable and really sad from time to time. After everyone left Nate and I watched The Matrix for some reason with some glorious Drunkington time as an intermission.

Sunday: Game. took. forever.

Today: Went to lunch with Mike, got some super cheap sunblock that has the consistency of paint, put on white trash looking clothing, then we got paint brushes and 40s and worked on his car. The drunk made me tired and I took a nap and I've been staring at screens ever since.

Tomorrow I do most of Tom's paper. Also, last day of classes. O.o

A list of things from this past week:
+My Mirror Speaks on repeat.
+Stegosaurus hat and top hat paper mache party with Clare while learning about pop culture from MTV2.
+New Patrick Wolf album.
+Spring Day was pretty. Nate cut off his hair. We had family portraits made at Walmart with Paul, Mike, Nate, Clare, myself, and surprise special guest, Joseph "Doom Kasper".
+Four and a half hour version of Das Boot.
+Veronica time!
+Terrible sunburn from being in the sun for an hour.
+Being inside running sound for senior dance shows on a beautiful day while a bunch of people went and played in the creek.
+6 mile walk from closed pharmacy to closed pharmacy because Nate was adamant about getting aloe for my sunburn. Walk only resulted in fatigue and a giant cup of horchata.
+Hanging out in box with Galen!
+Cowboy Bebop, 12,000 BC, and origami.
+Being too comfy and contented to get up and run sound on Sunday.
+Mariachi battle of the bands and tunneling right into a mana barrier.
+Lunch with Paul and his dad. Looking at nature. Building and planning things.
+Tea with Kate.

I need to do school a little in these last weeks, then never again. As this is the case, expect more updates.
winterophelia: (Default)
It's been a while.
Um.
Stuff is about the same.
I need to finish this paper so I can graduate. Thinking about doing work almost makes me feel physically ill. Had a panic attack about school last Wednesday. Spent all of Thursday hiding in Nate's room sleeping. Got out of bed three times: twice to pee and once to look at pictures Mike had posted to nedroid of our bathroom, Beartato toilet, and Reginald sink. The weather was beautiful, Jim was here, and I missed it all. There was karaoke outside which was entertaining to listen to, though it did wake me up.
Saturday Clare, Nate, Paul, and I went on a bike ride to Big Hill park. I failed. Upon returning home there was little to do, so we took Mike hostage and then made Elsbeth shave his legs. Then there was a Drunkington and Shoe and I dyed Irene's hair. I passed out on my face and woke up around 8:30 in a very awkward position.
Pictures here and here.
Today game was canceled and Clare, Mike, Nate, and I played Zombies.
None of this is homework. Shit.
Mike and I are halfway through like three different art projects. He says there's a parallel universe where we're at art school going "Man, I seriously need to finish this painting, but I really just want to write a critical analysis of Othello."
I can't really think of anything else.
It needs to be a month ago.

Now sleep.

Things have seemed extra college-y lately and I'm not sure why.

Last week was super quiet as Brasington was getting geared up for his one man play, Patrick barely exists during the day because of his nocturnal job, and Mike spends most of his time with Elsbeth now and is infrequently home. I came dangerously close to restarting my wow account, but resisted temptation and have been working on my Shadowrun character instead. One build is a vampire Voodoo chick and the other (just for shits and giggles) is a party centaur. He has all the spells like intoxicate, orgy, and entertainment.

At some point during the week I came home to Patrick practicing taking off his suit so that Dan Aykroyd (who was in Madison signing stuff) could sign his boobs.

Friday I went to Brasington's show "Here Lies Henry", which was really very good. Mike and Bill had a very short game of naked/strip tag, and then there was abundant sitting around on Whitney ground trying to figure out something to do. Something ended up being making brownies with a peanut butter center and n64 games. Then Nate and I watched season 3 of Venture Bros. until very late o'clock.

Saturday contained a lot of lollygagging until early afternoon when we had a group cleaning of Mike's room to prepare for Macks who is without home due to flooding. We set him up with a pretty sweet spread including a computer (does not work), record collection and player, bass and amp, tv and Nintendo+games, and awful promo material from the 90s WBCR got rid of. Emily and Elsbeth worked on their theses forever. Becca Miner made a onesie out of some of Mike's clothes while she, Nate, and I wrote a collaborative story about the Brasington Twins. Usual C-haus sitting, though Mike was more filled with rage than usual as the contrast between the week and work was more dramatic than usual (happy week vs stupid drunk people). Brasington turned into Drunkington. Passed out way early. It was nice to have so many people around, though.

Sunday was restless nearly all afternoon. Had a sammich. Game was canceled. I altered a shirt. Nate and I ate greasy Chinese food and watched Trigun until the sleep times.

For a fairly uneventful weekend, that's quite a long entry. I was just reading old entries and wishing I had been more explicit in describing some things so I could better remember what had happened. This might be too much. Whatevs, who reads all of these things besides Md and me, anyway?

Now...
To-do list:
-watch A Thousand Acres & write a comparison with King Lear.
-figure out the other half of that Tom paper (good luck) and write it.
-go to the gym?
-clean room.
-Rob things.
-research for Eve paper.
-kill academics dead.

Have some pictures from spring break.
Here's a rough overview--
Friday: Clare, Paul, Myself to Chicago. Watchmen (not as bad as I was expecting. the opening credits are awesome).

Saturday: American Science and Surplus (soviet military belt and uniform buttons). Fun times with Paul's home friends.

Sunday: Pick Mike up from Beloit. More fun times with Paul's home friends.

Monday: More fun times. Retrieve Nate.

Tuesday: Straight drive to Nashville with a brief stop in Kentucky. Karaoke at the Springwater with Sarah, Caitlin, Christi, Elizabeth, and Kevin (briefly).

Wednesday: Met Sarah's boyfriend finally. Poked around Hillboro Village and Vanderbilt. Waffle House. Watching things.

Thursday: Straight to St. Louis. Clare's basset hound with a cone over her head is so adorable and sad. Sci-fi lounge.

Friday: City. Museum. Epic. Win. Battlestar. Consulting the Middle-Earth map. More Waffle House. More City Museum.

Saturady: Visit Sarah's Mom. Leave Clare in St. Louis. Back to Paul's with a brief stop at Jason's in Bloomington. Enemy at the Gates.

Sunday: American Science and Surplus again. Back to Beloit. Good trip.

St. Paddy's was good. Being intoxicated for class and then being fed beer and donuts upon arriving there is awesome and a recipe for an excellent day. Happy hour was nuts. Car bombs, beer, and whiskey sours. Woo hoo.

Weekend has been pretty and overall relaxing. Helped carry scrap metal and then make a very tasty stew. Watched some Trigun. Killed myself, Mike, and a random NPC in Shadowrun, then Bill and Matthew moved to Texas.

Finally, BSG. Clare and I made a Galactica shaped cake. )
I thought Doomsday was bad, Rose and the Doctor ain't got shit on Adama and Laura. I actually had to bite my lip to keep from losing my shit in front of the seven people I was watching the finale with. There were things I really liked, and a couple things I didn't, but overall everyone got their fitting ends except for Lee. Poor poor Lee Adama. Everyone you've ever loved has left you, maybe it's your atrocious hair.

Now, back to freaking out about everything and listening to Death Cab.

Dear Diary,
Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy.
Today we were kidnapped by hillfolk, never to be seen again.
It was the best day ever.
winterophelia: (Default)
My brain won't turn off when I try to sleep.
Also, I feel like I'm batshit.
What happened?
Further updates to follow.

I hate academics with a burning passion.
Clare, Paul, and I arrived at Paul's house last night. Soon after that, we went to Watchmen. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were a few things that pissed me off, but overall, it could have been worse.
Today we went to the mall, then to a really big, overwhelming electronics store.
I'm going through meat withdrawal.
Further updates to follow.

"By the time Ward became First Secretary of Townhouse C people knew that his townhouse had serious economic, social, and perhaps even military problems. The inherent flaws of the system had begun to sap it's strength to a point where some of its leaders started wondering whether modifications were necessary, and if so what kind and to what extent."

Why do we always lose all energy and motivation for a week after we spend a weekend super focusing on a project?

The time is filled with passing amusements. I have graduated from the intermediate napathy course and have moved on to advanced hypersomniac indifference.

Also, fuck that twitter shit.

Recently returned from having tea prepared over a wood stove made out of cans. It was chilly out there.
I might be home for like a day and a half of spring break next week with Beloit people.
Also, now I can listen to a playlist of nothing but Bear McCreary and Howard Shore. It's epic and calming.

Time for Apuleius.
winterophelia: (Default)
I realize I haven't really said anything about being back at school yet.
Classes all have a lot of reading. I love Rob LaFleur. Levi-Strauss is very interesting. Medieval women are not as obnoxious to study as modern women, but still a little hard to take.
We all finally finished our Andras papers.
Mike, Nate, and I lie in piles a lot, and often times Clare is there too.
One day maybe we'll play Shadowrun?
I live life constantly waiting for 9pm Friday night.
Mike did a "What Matters to Me and Why". One day maybe it'll get uploaded.
The day before yesterday included a very surreal trip to the dollar store and Culver's with Mike and Paul.
Last Saturday was full of pancakes, a long walk in areas that looked post-apocalyptic, Mike napping, sitting in a bathtub, food, and five people squished on one futon. Next time we go on a walk I need to take my camera...and wear proper footwear.
Last night Mike, Patrick, Emily, and I went to Mexican food. It was delicious and I think I'm still full from it.
I should do some work now, but I probably won't.
winterophelia: (Default)
Paul's threatening to beat us and smash things in order to get Mike and I to write our papers. As a reward, pancakes.
Send help.
