Oct. 7th, 2010 07:54 pmThere are now pictures of me LARPing on facebook. My position in the geek hierarchy has just fallen. I've been trying to think of a more Katy Perry metered way of saying "I participated in a LARP and I liked it." I guess that works.
So, yeah, LARPing. It was way fun. I went to Jersey to take part in my cousin's experimental LARP for her upcoming book. Getting out of Nashville was difficult. I got to battle with my first canceled flight Friday night, finally arriving in New York the next morning. The whole weekend was filled with booze and food and awesome people. It was reminiscent of college, which was fun while it was happening, but has left me a little sad.
I hung out with Lizzie for a couple days after and she showed me around her neck of Jersey. Going out and doing things with other people can be fun, which is something I should remember. Dammit, Nashville, make it easier for me to meet people.
Now it's back to never leaving my house and thinking of all the fun things I have done and how I'll never do anything fun again. How melodramatic.
I am seeing Gaga in April, so there's that. Also, GMX is coming up. I still have a lot of work to do on one of my costumes. Also also, phone banking to get people out to vote in the midterms.
Today I bought William Shatner's autobiography and a collection of H.P. Lovecraft stories at McKay for 6.50$ total, worked for a few hours, and then decorated for Halloween. Also battling a crippling desire to restart my WoW account after this past weekend plus watching the rest of season 4 of The Guild.
I think it's getting to be time for grad school, or something similar.
